Sorry I haven't seen you for a while. Things have been HAPPENING.. as in one thing after another!
Cyclones, pythons, #the100dayproject, Easter, adopting new puppies, oldest and dearest friends getting married. The last few months have been FULL ON.
So, where were we?
I was talking about ditching diet rules. Did you try it? I'm curious to find out how you felt about it?
I'm still feeling such relief to have found another way. BUT since the python incident, I've been too terrified to walk the dogs until today, so I'm finding my body is really suffering from the lack of movement. I didn't think my little 20-40 minute strolls were really doing anything, but it turns out they most definitely were.
So, once you've ditched the food rules, what happens next?
Well, since there's no rules, maybe the best thing to do is for us to listen to our bodies? I'll be honest, I've taken the no diet rules to the next level and I'm eating ALL the things. It feels like a mix between rebellion and total permission. I'm hoping I'll let my body learn that I WILL eat again tomorrow. That there is enough food to go around. That nothing is forbidden and therefore does not have any power over me. Then, when I'm ready I'm going to practice Intuitive Eating.
Intuitive Eating is way of eating, written about in their book of the same name, by Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD and Elyse Resch, MS, RD, FADA, in 1995. That's when I was 18 and if I could go back in time, this is one of the books I'd buy!

I think this is a really lovely, gentle way to live my life and I intend to have fun giving it a go.
