How liberating a thought! (Thank you Emily Fonnesbeck for the insightful phrasing.)
And what a ‘radical’ way to live. To those out there counting and weighing, I sincerely hope you can turn to the wisdom of your body. And to those thinking of weighing and counting, there is another way.
Weight does not equal health.
But rather, healthy behaviors are important for health.
- Are you moving your body in a way that brings you joy?
- Are you eating things that nourish your body AND bring you joy?
- Does your work (or the thing that keeps you busy during the day) bring you joy most of the time?
- Are you happy with the people you’ve surrounded yourself with?
- Are you sleeping well??
These are all much more important factors for your health than the number of calories on your plate.
